The Sawer is a Tier 3 tank that upgrades from Tank at level 30. The barrel is replaced by a saw rod that deals heavy damage when in contact while spinning. It may further upgrade into Mega Sawer, Chainsaw, Tri-Sawer, Sawgun, Auto Sawer, Jigsaw, Oversawer, Flame Sawer, or Reaper.

Design[]

The Sawer features a circular body, and a saw rod, which looks like two 12-pointed stars that has the same colors as the main body, with one of them overlapping the other. A small gray circle is at the middle of the stars, connected by a gray bar with the same width as the circle.

Technical[]

Upon upgrading, the cannon is replaced by a saw rod, making the tank a melee class. Bullet Damage is replaced by Saw Strength, while Reload is replaced by Saw Spin Rate. All other bullet stats are simply dropped. The stats table also increases up to nine points per each stat. The Sawer also receives a Stage 2 FoV, being the same with Sniper.

Saw Rod[]

The saw rod is a different kind of weapon compared to most other tanks. When pressing fire, the saw spins. During spinning, it acts like an opaque entity. It can hurt enemy tanks, Polygons, enemy ammunitions, and Bosses. The saw has infinite health, as long as it spins, which lasts around 5 seconds after spinning. Upgrading stats related to it enhances the saw rod's capability on taking down enemies. Note that only the saw is invulnerable while spinning, and the Sawer itself is still vulnerable to attacks, and upgrading Body Damage does not affect the saw rod, and so does the Sawer's main body when upgrading Saw Strength.

Stats[]

Saw Strength determines how much damage the Sawer's saw can does per contact per each loop. Initially at zero points on it, the saw will only do 20 damage. The damage increases by six per additional points invested to Saw Strength. Mathematically speaking, the calculation can be treated as:

  • 20 + (6 * n) where n stands for the number of points invested to it.

With that, the highest damage that can be achieved in a single hit with maximized Saw Strength is 74.

Saw Spin Rate determines the cooldown of the Sawer to spin its saw after the first spin. Initially at zero points on it, the saw can spin again after around seven seconds. Unlike Saw Strength, the cooldown for each additional points doesn't decrease orderly, as labeled by the chart below. Notice that on higher investing, the cooldown starts to decrease slighter than before:

Number of Points Invested in Saw Spin Rate Cooldown Before Re-Spinning the Saw
0 7
1 6.6
2 6.3
3 6
4 5.7
5 5.5
6 5.4
7 5.2
8 5.15
9 5.1

Strategy[]

  • Strong Against: Smasher branch, slow tanks, tanks with low DPS
  • Weak Against: Multiple tanks, high DPS tanks, Overseer/Overlord

Playing with this tank is much like playing with the Smasher, except that the tank's body and the saw had separate stats. Be careful when attempting to attack an enemy tank. If the player failed, they might end up being killed instead. Remember to move the cursor to point the saw rod.

Smasher branch classes might had a trouble fighting this tank. When timed right, Smashers will usually end up being grinded by the Sawer's saw. However, a group of Smashers is a pretty big challenge to be beaten. Maximizing saw stats might let the Sawer defeat them easier.

Never attempt to attack an enemy tank with high DPS/Reload, like Triplet or Auto Gunner. They might deal low damage, but remember that the tank's health is not the same as a maxed out Smasher. Use an ambushing technique if one needs to deal with them.

Sawers might stand a chance against Overseers branch, but not too much. If the tank managed to avoid the drones, or charge through the drones while the saw is spinning, it will be able to defeat the Overseer.

Trivia[]

  • Sawer

The old design of Sawer's weapon. Art by AU12321.

The Sawer can be considered as alternate equivalent to Smasher.
  • This tank, along with its upgrades, used to use a weapon that looks like another tank (as the saw appears as the Spike).
    • Basically, its design looks like a circular saw. This also applies to its upgrades (including the Chainsaw).
  • It used to have two additional stats, but it was dropped since it will make the Sawer's stats hard to accommodate.
