Wiki Event News
The next Sandbox will be from 9 PM EST to 10 PM EST on Sunday, June 17th.
New Image Contests coming soon!
The New Headers are set to be released this week. We will need a graphic for the Headers, but we have also decided to spice things up; the Wiki Background will also be up for replacement! As soon as the Headers are released, a highlighted thread with all the details will be released wherein submissions may be posted! The users whose artwork are chosen for use as graphics will receive Diep Artist Rewards and a little something else.
New Editor of the Month!
For his outstanding & consistent contributions, Skye Sim has been nominated to be the Editor of the Month for June! Congratulations Skye, you earned it!
iOS App promised soon(ish)
After talking with Fandom Staff a few days ago, Ursuul learned that the reason why the iOS App for the Diep.io Wiki has been delayed is because there is a backlog with Apple. The App is finished, it is simply queued for release in the App Store. It is not known exactly when, but perhaps in a week or two there will finally be an iOS App for the Diep.io Wiki!
Discussions are now enabled on every Interlanguage Diep.io Wiki except for the Spanish Wiki. A list can be found. In addition, the Diep.io Conception Wiki has also , so no matter what language you speak, or the topic you want to broach, there will be a place for you.
Tank Building Contest flop
Due to some bureaucratic mistakes on the part of the Administration, the TBC wasn’t brought to completion and was instead abandoned. Sincere apologies to anyone who participated.
Congratulations to Banarama for joining the Community Council! The Diep.io Wiki now has an even stronger voice when it comes to Fandom decision-making thanks to those who represent us all to Fandom higher-ups, so with luck it will portend good things in the long run.
Wiki Policy News
Banners Script Death — The Future of Weekly Updates
Rappy has deleted the old Banners Script which used to announce that a new Weekly Update was present. As Weekly Updates were intended as a means of issuing news without the use of the Highlight tool, since Forums are closing, the Weekly Updates will continue unless a Highlight function becomes available in Discussions. However, without Banners, a Highlight function in Discussions would be greatly preferred, & so if ever such a tool becomes available, Weekly Updates will be stripped down into short posts with only vital information that will be highlighted via Discussions. This is very similar to the way the Elder Scrolls Wiki does their Updates; a short highlighted thread with the absolute essentials, & that’s it.
Possible Second Senior Administrator
Due to increasing encroachment of time, as well as the need for dedicated leaders who will hold the Wiki together no matter what may come, it is currently being considered that a new Bureaucrat (Senior Administrator) will be named for the first time in nearly a year.
There are talented and trustworthy editors among us now, staying faithfully even as the Wiki has begun to quiet down. A few will join Staff for the first time, that is certain, but the possibility of a new Bureaucrat is still undecided. It may or may not happen. How would you feel, if a new Bureaucrat was named? Should we wait longer? Do you have nominations for the job? Would you prefer that all other Bureaucrats, Zathus and Ursuul, step down in order to have a clear leader? Or would you prefer many working in tandem? Your thoughts, as always, are appreciated.

Welcome Message Finally Completed!
New Headers Preparation
As outlined in the last Weekly Update, the Headers cannot have JS or CSS styles affecting them in any fashion. To prepare for this, all CSS styles & JS affecting the TopNav have been removed. AnonButtons have not yet been uninstalled, as it is still unknown if it will be barred, but it is highly likely that they will be. MediaWiki:Button.css still needs to be amended, but it will be done in time. Modified Flags can be uninstalled instantly via MediaWiki:ImportJS, so it will be left installed until the moment the new Headers are released.
- Several MediaWiki messages were tweaked so that the Welcome Tool will work even if Anonymous Editing is enabled or if Message Walls are disabled.
- MediaWiki:Welcome-user was changed to allow all Admins to send Welcome Messages.
- MediaWiki:Ipboptions was changed to allow three year bans to be issued.
- Button.css was tweaked.
- Modified Flags was tweaked to accommodate Taiwanese Wikis, although it is not likely to ever be updated again.
