OH…MAHH…GAWD…SO…EXHAUSTED… A quiet, but still exciting week overall, so let’s dive in!
Wiki Event News
Tank Building Contest: VOTE!
Submissions are closed! Now is the time to vote on all the excellent submissions we’ve received; the voting will end on May 11th, 2017, & the winner will receive their Reward on the same day!
Automated Message Revamp
The automated message sent out to all new users is in need of a makeover. It’s a rather difficult task that will require technical skill to pull off to our liking, so what we are asking for is suggestions from users. What would you like to see in an automated message, that would actually make you want to read it? Feedback is appreciated, & to start you off, here are three examples of good automated messages:
The next Wiki Sandbox will be on Saturday May 13th, from 10 AM to 11 AM EST (14:00 UTC to 15:00 UTC), after which there will be an hourlong gaming session. If you’d like to come, then just show up at the right time and dig in!
History of the Diep.io Wiki Project
In preparation for the one-year anniversary of the Diep.io Wiki, we are putting together an abridged history of the Diep.io Wiki to celebrate how far we have come since ol’ Mewsh started it all. We’ve decided to divide the past year into five “Eras”. Everyone who’s been here a while is welcome to edit those pages and add their knowledge!
Wiki Policy News
Another quiet week, though with some Policy discussion to show.
News Team Dissolution Discussion
The News team was completely unable to deliver the news on time this week, prompting further discussion about whether the News Team should stay. The overall consensus was that the plan was satisfactory (though non-Staff should still be able to apply), but few users helped in time for the news this week. Once again the question is raised — can we manage to rally enough members to finish the news, or is the ship sinking for the Team? Leave your thoughts in the Opinion Polls and the comments!
New Forum Games Policy
Thanks to a brilliant suggestion from Captain Hayden, the Forum Games debate has ended with a satisfctory compromise. It was necessary to provide more separation for these games, but at the same time keep them on the wiki (many users fervently opposed removal of their favorite games). Thus, we will slowly be moving these games to Blogs! Blogs will also have the added perk of lowering load times, and providing more organization. While none of the existing Forum Games will be moved there for a while, and new Games aren't fully expected to take place there, you can still make a blog there just to try it out. Make sure to include the Game Blogs category in your blog if you know how. Have fun!
Promotions & Demotions
Again, none this week!
Still no iOS Wiki App
Likely due to the higher standards of vetting that Apple imposes on the App Store, the Mobile App is still unavailable for iOS users. It is likely that the App was submitted, and is simply awaiting review, so it could come out any day now.
New Base Font
We have been reconsidering changing the base font (What I'm typing in) on this wiki. We have narrowed down a list of suggested fonts to five fonts. To demonstrate these five fonts, we have placed each font as the base font on each on the Boss pages. Vote for your favorite font in the Opinion Polls!
New Loader Design
We have implemented a new loading gif on the edit pages. This gif along with the restyled text, follows through the new look we have got going in our Wiki.
Wiki Design Feedback
We have been reconsidering our overall look on our Wiki. This will change the aesthetics of our wiki drastically. If you want to weigh in on this change, you can tell us your opinions here. You can expect to see a few changes occur on this Wiki during this week.
Discussions Feed — Coming Soon to the Main Page
Administrators will add a Discussions Activity Feed to the right rail of the Main Page. In order to ensure that the left column is not shorter than the right column, the left column will need to be extended before the Feed can be added. As soon as the Community App for iOS is released, Adminsitrators will move the MP-Apps Module to the left column of the Main Page to extend its length, and then add more content to the Twin Modules to further increase the left column length until it is long enough to fit a Discussions Feed in the right rail, at which point it will be installed.
